Hmm, now then, here’s a thing. Waiting for Nokia to announce their first Windows phone is a bit like waiting for Christmas (i.e. loads and loads of anticipation, with that nagging feeling it may all end in crushing disappointment), so any titbit of info is going to get lapped up by, well, everyone. I understand that feeling, believe me; I’m exactly the same when it comes to news about Mass Effect 3.
Anyway, the point is that today, we’ve heard… well, alright, it’s not even a titbit of information, it’s Nokia’s Dave Trevaskus teasing everyone on his Twitter feed, saying, “This device will blow your socks off!!”
So, what could it mean?
To be honest, I have not even one shred of a clue, other than the obvious ‘ooh, wow, it’s going rock’ idea. And to be fair, it could, since Nokia do make some bleedin’ nice hardware, especially cameras. I challenge anyone to find a better camera phone than the awesomeness that is the Nokia N8. And then, there’s the Nokia E7, which is like the N8, but without the ludicrously powerful camera. It’s got a QWERTY keyboard instead, and it’s really rather nice.
Of course, I’m still not convinced Windows Phone 7 suits my tastes enough for this beastie to “blow my socks off”, but we shall see. I have my Homer Simpson socks all ready, so I’m just waiting for the big announcement.
Bring it, Nokia…
